The Fortescue on Mutley Plain is Plymouth CAMRA Pub of the Year 2008 - congratulations to the Steve and the team. The award is based on votes cast by branch members at meetings and was a close run competition this year with the runner up and third placed pubs only one and two votes behind the winner.

An alarming number of pubs in our area have been recently reclaimed by the responsible pub company, or have closed because the tenant/leasee/manager has quit or gone out of business. However, the Breton Arms is set to reopen under a new branding. Bar Big Wigs just around the corner has recently ceased trading and it is understood that this is also the case at the Jolly Miller in Estover.
